What We Serve

Special Olympics New Brunswick is dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability through sport.

Vibrant Community Programs
Daily programs for all skill levels, and all ages, geared to those who want to be active for life.

Achieving Sport Excellence
Competitive opportunities, ranging from local/regional meets to provincial/territorial games, to national and world games. Special Olympics Canada’s team training program is a model for programs across North America.

Who can participate?

Special Olympics is open to every intellectually disabled person, regardless of the level or degree of that person's disability, and whether or not that person also has other physical disabilities.

What impact does Special Olympics have on athletes?

Children and adults with an intellectual disability who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image. They improve physically, mentally and socially. Overall, participants make new friends and discover new abilities and skills that will serve them well in day-to-day life.

What ages are eligible?

Almost every age is eligible for Special Olympics programming in New Brunswick from two to 90. Special Olympics NB also has a youth program for children aged two to 12, which focuses on structured play and introduction to games, teams, competitions and socialization.
